From Worn and Weathered to Warm and Refined
Before the bathroom renovation, the space felt tired, dated and well past its best. The original room had an older, more basic layout with worn surfaces, ageing fixtures and a finish palette that lacked warmth or visual impact. During demolition, the full extent of the transformation became clear, with the room stripped back to its shell and prepared for a complete rebuild. The previous bathroom served its purpose, but it did not offer the level of comfort, style or functionality the homeowners were after. It felt more purely practical than considered, with little sense of design detail or atmosphere. The brief for this bathroom renovation was to completely elevate the space and create something that felt brighter, more luxurious and much more in keeping with the quality of the rest of the home.
A More Luxurious Design Language
The design vision centred on creating a bathroom that felt elegant, distinctive and highly resolved. The homeowners wanted a more premium result, with finishes that would feel timeless yet full of personality. Soft neutral tiling formed the base of the palette, while the feature marble-look shower wall was selected to bring depth, movement and a sense of drama to the room. Warm timber-look cabinetry introduced natural warmth, and brushed brass fixtures were chosen to add richness and contrast without overpowering the space. The aim of the bathroom renovation was not only to improve function, but also to create a room with a stronger design identity and a more elevated everyday feel.
Crafted for Impact and Everyday Ease
The renovated bathroom was carefully reworked to deliver both visual impact and practical function. A custom vanity with warm timber-look cabinetry and a crisp white benchtop now anchors the room, paired with a statement above-counter basin and a softly illuminated round mirror. The shower was rebuilt with a refined glass screen and brushed brass trim, creating a much more polished and seamless look. Within the shower zone, the bold marble-look feature wall acts as a striking focal point, instantly lifting the room and giving the bathroom renovation a more luxurious tone. Updated fixtures, cleaner lines and a brighter finish palette all work together to make the space feel more open, cohesive and beautifully resolved.
A Bathroom Elevated
The final result is a bathroom that feels calm, contemporary and unmistakably more refined than the original. Where the previous room felt plain and dated, the new design delivers warmth, contrast and a strong sense of detail. The brushed brass fixtures add sophistication, the feature wall creates visual drama, and the timber vanity softens the overall palette with a natural warmth. Together, these elements have transformed the space into a bathroom that feels both elegant and highly functional. This bathroom renovation in Daglish is a great example of how a compact space can be elevated through thoughtful design choices, quality finishes and a clear vision for the final result.
